An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Osaka. First ranked Aishin Sea Horses faced second-ranked Panasonic Trians. Guests from Kariya (22-7) defeated host Panasonic Trians (19-10) 79-63. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Panasonic Trians. The game was mostly controlled by Aishin Sea Horses. Panasonic Trians managed to win second period 18-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Kosuke Takeuchi (205-85) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). The former international center J.R. Sakuragi (206-76, college: UCLA) chipped in 16 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Aishin Sea Horses players scored in double figures. American forward Jerald Honeycutt (205-74, college: Tulane) produced 16 points and 9 rebounds and international guard Kenta Hirose (193-85) added 14 points respectively for the hosts. Panasonic Trians' coach rotated twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Aishin Sea Horses maintains first place with 22-7 record. Panasonic Trians at the other side keep the second position with ten games lost. They share it with Toyota. Aishin Sea Horses will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Panasonic Trians will play again at home against the league's leader Aishin Sea Horses in Kariya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
