Regular Season Round 22: MKS DG - Znicz Basket 78-64

Rather expected game when 8th ranked MKS Znicz Basket (10-12) lost on the road to sixth ranked MMKS Dabrowa Gornicza (14-7) 78-64. It looked good early as MKS Znicz Basket took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then MMKS Dabrowa Gornicza had a 20-13 second period charge getting the lead and MKS Znicz Basket was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 64-78. MMKS Dabrowa Gornicza brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. Power forward Adam Lisewski (206-80) fired a double-double by scoring 16 points, 13 rebounds and 7 blocks for the winners. Swingman Marek Piechowicz (203-88) chipped in 21 points. Four MMKS Dabrowa Gornicza players scored in double figures. Naturalized American guard Janavor Weatherspoon (186-80, college: Oklahoma St., agency: Promotex) produced 15 points and 4 assists and forward Grzegorz Malewski (200-84) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. MMKS Dabrowa Gornicza moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Asec.Prokom-2. MKS Znicz Basket at the other side keeps the eighth position with 12 games lost. MMKS Dabrowa Gornicza's next round opponent will be GKS Tychy (#13) on the road and are hoping to win another game.
