The most exciting game of round 17 in the A1 took place in Venezia. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 3rd placed Cras Taranto (11-4) to sixth ranked Umana Reyer (8-9) 61-60 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Cras Taranto. The hosts trailed by 10 points after three quarters before their 23-12 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Umana Reyer forced 20 Cras Taranto turnovers. American power forward Nicole Ohlde (193-82, college: Kansas St.) saved the victory by scoring 16 points and 8 rebounds. Slovenian forward Daliborka Jokic (185-81) contributed with 21 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American forward Sophia Young (186-83, college: Baylor) answered with 16 points and 4 steals and Belgian guard Kathy Wambe (173-81) added 9 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Cras Taranto. Umana Reyer maintains sixth place with 8-9 record, which they share with Comense. Defending champion Cras Taranto dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. Umana Reyer is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Pallacanestro Pozzuoli (#12) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Cras Taranto will play against Liomatic Umbertide (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
