Regular Season Round 22: Catz - Huima 79-40

An interesting game for Catz Lappeenranta (14-8) which hosted in Lappeenranta one of their biggest challengers Aanekosken (13-9). Third ranked Catz Lappeenranta had an easy win 79-40. Catz Lappeenranta dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Aanekosken's 20. They outrebounded Aanekosken 45-31 including 18 on the offensive glass. Russian center Elizaveta Kityzina (195-80) had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international center Kaisa Tuure (189-78) chipped in 10 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Catz Lappeenranta's coach Mika Haakana felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American forward Judie Lomax (180-88, college: Columbia) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and her fellow American import power forward Michele Jones (186-87, college: Cincinnati) scored 8 points and 10 rebounds. Catz Lappeenranta have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion moved-up to second place. Aanekosken at the other side keeps the fourth position with nine games lost. Catz Lappeenranta will play against Forssan Alku (#6) on the road in the next round. Aanekosken will play against Espoo Team and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
