Regular Season Round 32: Miyazaki SS - Shiga L-Stars 102-84

There was a change at the BJ League leadership position after last games. Round 32 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Shiga Lakestars (19-12). They were defeated by eighth ranked Miyazaki Shining Suns (10-21) 102-84 on Saturday night. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 102-84. Miyazaki Shining Suns forced 26 Shiga Lakestars turnovers. Americans were the main players on the court. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Jackie Manuel (196-83, college: N.Carolina) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 8 rebounds and forward Brandon Cole (203-84, college: Xavier, agency: Global Sports Plaza) who added 22 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Four Miyazaki Shining Suns players scored in double figures. Miyazaki Shining Suns' coach Tohyama Kouto used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Gary Hamilton (208-84, college: Miami (FL)) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 18 rebounds and 7 assists and forward Lamar Rice (203-82, college: Georgetown, KY) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds. Miyazaki Shining Suns maintains eighth position with 10-21 record. Shiga Lakestars at the other side dropped to the second place with 12 games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Osaka Evessa. Shiga Lakestars will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest and make it back to the top of the standings. Miyazaki Shining Suns will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Shiga Lakestars at home.
