Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Reykjavik: KR (#2) and KFI (#12). KR (14-4) won against visiting KFI (3-14) 100-86. The hosts trailed by 8 points at the halftime before their 53-31 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. KR made 23-of-29 free shots (79.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when KR made 7 blocks. KFI was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Five KR and four KFI players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. KR have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 14-4 record behind leader Snaefell. Newly promoted KFI stay at the bottom place with 14 games lost. KR will face Tindastoll (#8) in Sauoarkrokur in the next round where they are favorite. KFI will play at home against Fjolnir (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
