Regular Season Round 19: Tromso - Froya Basket 106-102

Rather predictable result when second ranked Tromso (13-4) defeated at home 5th ranked Froya (8-11) 106-102 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Froya won fourth quarter 32-26. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tromso looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The former international guard Bendik Myhrer (190-85) fired 39 points (!!!) and 5 assists for the winners. American swingman Ronald Timus (197-84, college: Morgan St.) chipped in 31 points and 8 rebounds. The former international forward Miilah Kombat (200-88, college: N.Idaho JC) produced 35 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and Latvian guard Edmunds Gabrans (190-79, agency: Prossin Sports Management) added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tromso maintains second place with 13-4 record having just three points less than leader Asker. Loser Froya keeps the fifth position with 11 games lost. Tromso will meet Kristiansand (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Froya will have a break next round.
