Regular Season Round 23: Shanghai S. - Liaoning H. 113-95

An interesting game took place in Shanghai where 10th ranked Liaoning Hunters (10-12) were upseton the court of thirteenth ranked Shanghai Sharks (9-13) 113-95. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Liaoning Hunters. The game was mostly controlled by Shanghai Sharks. Liaoning Hunters was better in second period 25-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Shanghai Sharks dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Liaoning Hunters' 44. They outrebounded Liaoning Hunters 57-36 including a 38-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. International guard Wei LiuWei (190-80) orchestrated the victory by scoring 28 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. American forward Mike Harris (198-83, college: Rice) contributed with 25 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Forward Tian-ju He (203-90) answered with 31 points and 9 rebounds and guard Ming Yang (193-85) added 12 points and 4 assists in the effort for Liaoning Hunters. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Shanghai Sharks moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Jilin. Liaoning Hunters at the other side dropped to the ninth position with 12 games lost. Shanghai Sharks' next round opponent will be Jilin Tigers (#11) in Changchun.
