Assigeco BPL (8-12) outlasted Tuscany Pistoia (9-11) in overtime by seven points 97-90. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Tuscany Pistoia won third quarter 18-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Tuscany Pistoia used huge pressure winning it 22-18 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 8-15. Assigeco BPL players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Tuscany Pistoia's players. The winners were led by American forward Ruben Boykin (201-85, college: N.Arizona) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 22 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and naturalized Argentinian swingman Bruno Cerella (194-86, agency: Players Group) supported him with 26 points and 8 rebounds. Even a double-double of 25 points and 11 rebounds by American forward Jarvis Varnado (206-88, college: Mississippi St.) did not help to save the game for Tuscany Pistoia. His fellow American import guard Joseph Forte (193-81, college: N.Carolina, agency: JEMsports) added 28 points for the guests. Four Assigeco BPL and five Tuscany Pistoia players scored in double figures. Assigeco BPL moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Tezenis Verona and N.Ferrara. Tuscany Pistoia at the other side keeps the ninth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Fileni BPA. Assigeco BPL will play against higher ranked Snaidero Udine (#3) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Tuscany Pistoia will have a break next round.
