An interesting game took place in Veroli where higher ranked Prima Veroli (11-9) was upset on its own court by eleventh ranked Fileni BPA (9-11) 84-78 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Prima Veroli. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Prima Veroli won third quarter 22-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Fileni BPA made 22-of-24 free shots (91.7 percent) during the game. Prima Veroli was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Barry Elder (193-82, college: Georgia Tech) who helped to win the game recording 27 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and the former international center Michele Maggioli (212-77) who added 13 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. The former international guard Guido Rosselli (196-83) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and Lithuanian center Antanas Kavaliauskas (208-84, college: Texas A&M) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Fileni BPA and five Prima Veroli players scored in double figures. Fileni BPA moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Tuscany PT. Loser Prima Veroli keeps the seventh position with nine games lost. Fileni BPA will face league's leader Umana Venezia at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
