Shanxi Zhongyu (7-14) outlasted Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (12-10) in overtime by eleven points 140-129. The game took place in Hangzhou. But the guests from Taiyuan were better at the end. The game was mostly controlled by Shanxi Zhongyu. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions was better in second period 29-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Zhejiang Guangsha Lions used huge pressure winning it 39-22 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 8-19. Shanxi Zhongyu made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three nailing 21 long-distance shots on high 56.8 percentage. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions were plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Leon Rodgers (199-80, college: N.Illinois) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 53 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds. Forward JiangPeng Duan (197-90) accounted for 31 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals for the winning side. American-Puerto Rican center Peter John Ramos (222-85) came up with a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!), 19 rebounds and 4 blocks and American guard Tre Kelley (182-85, college: S.Carolina) added 27 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for Zhejiang Guangsha Lions in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions' coach tested eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Shanxi Zhongyu maintains fifteenth place with 7-14 record. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions at the other side dropped to the fifth position with ten games lost. They share it with Bayi. Shanxi Zhongyu will play against higher ranked Liaoning Hunters (#9) in Yingkou in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions will play at home against TianJin Rongcheng (#17) in Tianjin and hope to get back on the winning track.
