The game between second ranked Shiga Lakestars (19-13) and eighth ranked Miyazaki Shining Suns (11-21) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Shiga Lakestars were defeated by Miyazaki Shining Suns in a tough game in Miyazaki 88-94. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Shiga Lakestars won third quarter 23-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Miyazaki Shining Suns won last quarter 25-20. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward Elijah Palmer (201-81, college: Duquesne, agency: Court Side) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Brandon Cole (203-84, college: Xavier, agency: Global Sports Plaza) chipped in a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Lamar Rice (203-82, college: Georgetown, KY) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists and power forward Gary Hamilton (208-84, college: Miami (FL)) added 16 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) respectively. Five Miyazaki Shining Suns and four Shiga Lakestars players scored in double figures. Shiga Lakestars' coach Haruyuki Ishibashi rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Miyazaki Shining Suns have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain eighth place with 11-21 record. Shiga Lakestars lost third consecutive game. They keep the second position with 13 games lost. They share it with Okinawa GK. Miyazaki Shining Suns are looking forward to face higher ranked Saitama Broncos (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Shiga Lakestars will play against Okinawa GK and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
