Regular Season Round 19: Asker Aliens - Baerum Basket 95-72

The game between Top Four teams took place in Asker. First ranked host Asker (15-3) smashed 4th placed Baerum (10-8) 95-72. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Baerum. The game was mostly controlled by Asker. Baerum managed to win second period 18-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Asker forced 19 Baerum turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for the former international forward Frank Nyborg (197-83) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!). The former international guard Mustafa Mahnin (182-80) helped adding 19 points and 7 assists. Four Asker players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Vincent Hamilton (196-80, college: Wilberforce) responded with 12 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import power forward Donald Oatis (206-79, college: Wilberforce, agency: Prossin Sports Management) scored 9 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Asker have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 15-3 record. Baerum at the other side keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. Asker are looking forward to face Ulriken (#3) in Bergen in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Baerum will play at home against Gimle in Bergen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
