There was an upset when 4th placed Caceres 2016 (15-8) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Melilla Baloncesto (12-11) 91-73 on Wednesday. The hosts trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 18 points. Melilla Baloncesto shot 61.7 percent from the field. Melilla Baloncesto looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was power forward Miguel Montanana (206-80) who scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. American center Jeff Foote (213-88, college: Cornell) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Caceres 2016 will play against Grupo Iruna Navarra in Pamplona.
