An interesting game took place in Shanghai where 11th ranked Jilin Tigers (9-14) were upseton the court of fourteenth ranked Shanghai Sharks (10-13) 107-98 on Wednesday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Jilin Tigers. The game without a history. Shanghai Sharks led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Jilin Tigers' 42. Shanghai Sharks had a 35-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Jilin Tigers' players. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Mike Harris (198-83, college: Rice) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds and center Fei Peng (203-87) who added 24 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Five Shanghai Sharks players scored in double figures. Shanghai Sharks' coach Bob Jr. Donewald allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was American swingman Tim Pickett (193-81, college: Florida St.) with 30 points and 9 rebounds and international guard Shulong Yu (185-90) scored 22 points. Shanghai Sharks moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Liaoning. Loser Jilin Tigers dropped to the thirteenth position with 14 games lost. Shanghai Sharks will face higher ranked Beijing Ducks (#6) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Jilin Tigers will play against Shanxi Zhongyu (#15) in Taiyuan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
