Regular Season Round 24: Bayi R. - Beijing Ducks 107-104

The most exciting game of round 24 in the CBA took place in Ningbo. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Beijing Ducks (12-10) to fifth ranked Bayi Fubang (13-10) 107-104 on Wednesday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 35-29. But Beijing Ducks won second period 22-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Bayi Fubang won last quarter 29-27. They made 35-of-40 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game, while Beijing Ducks only scored eighteen points from the stripe. 26 personal fouls committed by Beijing Ducks helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international center ZhiZhi Wang (214-79) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds and the former international center Ke Mo (210-82) who added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Bayi Fubang's coach Chang Bin Adijan used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American power forward Randolph Morris (211-86, college: Kentucky) with 33 points (!!!) and forward Zhe Ji (202-89) scored 22 points and 7 rebounds. Five Bayi Fubang and four Beijing Ducks players scored in double figures. Bayi Fubang moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Zhejiang G.L. Beijing Ducks lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with ten games lost. They share it with Jiangsu. Bayi Fubang is looking forward to face league's leader Xinjiang Flying Tige in Urumqi in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Beijing Ducks will play at home against Shanghai Sharks (#10) and are hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
