No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Espoo Honka (21-12) beat 11th ranked LrNMKY (8-27) in Lappeenranta 83-69 on Wednesday. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Espoo Honka's pressure prevailed and they won that period 21-10 extending their advantage to 14 points. American guard Jamar Wilson (185-84, college: Albany) orchestrated the victory by scoring 30 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import center John Williamson (198-86, college: Cincinnati) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Espoo Honka's coach Pekka Salminen used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard James Lewis (191-86, college: Fresno Pacific) answered with 22 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Viljami Vanjoki (194-86) added 11 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for LrNMKY. Four LrNMKY players scored in double figures. Espoo Honka have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain fifth place with 21-12 record. Loser LrNMKY keeps the eleventh position with 27 games lost. Espoo Honka will face higher ranked UU-Korihait (#4) in Uusikaupunki in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. LrNMKY will play at home against Kouvot (#6) in Kouvola.
