Important game to mention about took place in Helsinki. Eighth ranked Kauhajoen Karhu (16-18) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 7th ranked Torpan Pojat (16-19) 91-89 in the game for the seventh place. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Torpan Pojat won third quarter 24-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for American forward Jeremiah Wood (200-85, agency: Court Side) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists. His fellow American import guard Walt Baxley (191-84, college: Mars Hill) helped adding 20 points and 4 steals. American forward LaVell Blanchard (201-81, college: Michigan, agency: Beo Basket) responded with 26 points and 8 rebounds and forward Timo Heinonen (198-81) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kauhajoen Karhu have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to seventh place. Torpan Pojat lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with 19 games lost. Kauhajoen Karhu will play against league's leader Tampereen Pyrinto at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Torpan Pojat will play against Joensuun Kataja (#3) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
