Regular Season Round 23: Forca Lleida - Ourense 54-92
Date: February 16, 2011
Bottom-ranked Ourense managed to get the second consecutive victory on Wednesday night. This time they outleveled eighth-ranked Lleida Basquet 92-54. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 38-point difference suggests that Ourense is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. The game without a history. Ourense led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a great shooting night for Ourense especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. The best player for the winners was Czech center Ondrej Starosta (215-79) who scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Jose Salvador Arco (194-84) chipped in 16 points. American center Dwayne Curtis (203-85, college: Mississippi, agency: Global Sports Plaza) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import swingman Mildon Ambres (198-84, college: S.Nazarene, agency: Impact Basketball) added 11 points respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ourense maintains eighteenth place with 5-18 record. Lleida Basquet at the other side keeps the eighth position with 12 games lost. They share it with La Laguna. Ourense are looking forward to face higher ranked Ford Burgos (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lleida Basquet will play against Palencia Baloncesto (#14) and is hoping to win this game.
