Regular Season Round 24: Start Gdynia - Tychy 80-75

Everything went according to plan in Gdynia where sixth ranked Asecco Prokom 2 (15-9) won against 13th ranked GKS Tychy (6-18) 80-75. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. GKS Tychy was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. It was a good game for forward Tomasz Wojdyla (201-77) who led his team to a victory with 14 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Piotr Smigielski (190-89) contributed with 15 points and 7 assists for the winners. The former international guard Dawid Witos (190-83, agency: Promotex) replied with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and center Lukasz Kwiatkowski (207-79) added 18 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for GKS Tychy. Five Asecco Prokom 2 and four GKS Tychy players scored in double figures. Asecco Prokom 2 maintains sixth position with 15-9 record, which they share with LKS Lodz. GKS Tychy lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth place with 18 games lost. They share the position with Gornik and Astoria. Asecco Prokom 2 will play against higher ranked MMKS Dabrowa Gornicza (#5) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. GKS Tychy will play against SKK Siedlce (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
