Not a big story in a game when 8th ranked Zhejiang Cyclones (12-12) were defeated on the road by second ranked DongGuan Leopards (19-4) 121-104. Zhejiang Cyclones were ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 66-48 second half run of DongGuan Leopards. They dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to Zhejiang Cyclones' 54 and made 22-of-26 charity shots (84.6 percent) during the game. DongGuan Leopards brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was a very good performance for Nigerian guard Josh-Emmanuel Akognon (180-86, college: Cal.St. Fullerton) who helped to win the game recording 37 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds. American-Lebanese power forward Jackson Vroman (208-81, college: Iowa St.) contributed with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American forward Marcus Williams (201-86, college: Arizona, agency: ZAG Advocates) answered with 31 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and the other American import power forward Josh Boone (208-84, college: Connecticut) added 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks in the effort for Zhejiang Cyclones. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Zhejiang Cyclones' coach tested eleven players seeing no chance for a win. DongGuan Leopards maintains second place with 19-4 record having just three points less than leader Xinjiang. Zhejiang Cyclones at the other side keep the eighth position with 12 games lost. DongGuan Leopards will play against Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (#4) in Hangzhou in the next round. Zhejiang Cyclones will have a break next round.
