Regular Season Round 19: 36ers - Tigers 83-86 OT

Adelaide 36ers (#8) forced the game against Melbourne Tigers (#7) into an overtime, but lost by three points 83-86 on Friday night. The game took place in Findon. But the guests from Melbourne were better at the end. The guests trailed by 12 points after three quarters before their 22-10 charge, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time and get a 3-point victory in overtime. It was a great evening for the former international power forward Matthew Burston (210-82) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds. Jamaican-American guard Corey Williams (191-77, college: Alabama St.) helped adding 19 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists. At the losing side the former international forward Adam Ballinger (205-79, college: Michigan St.) responded with 23 points and 8 rebounds and center Daniel Johnson (212-88, college: Pepperdine) scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Adelaide 36ers' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Melbourne Tigers maintains seventh place with 9-13 record. Adelaide 36ers lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 14 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
