Bottom-ranked Amarillida is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their 16th consecutive match to fourth ranked Aris (11-5) 61-38 on Saturday evening. The game without a history. Aris led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Amarillida to just 7 points in third and fourth quarters. Aris dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Amarillida's 22. Aris forced 30 Amarillida turnovers. It was a very good performance for guard Roula Mouli (177-85) who helped to win the game recording 6 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Niki Hatzakou (175-82) contributed with 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Guard Julie Stefanidou (172-90) replied with 9 points and 5 rebounds and guard Iro Valantasi (188-86) added 5 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Amarillida. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Aris have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Newly promoted Amarillida still closes the standingsAris will face Panionios (#6) in Athens in the next round. Amarillida will play at home against PAOK (#9) in Thessaloniki and hopes to get finally their first victory.
