The game in Kyoto was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Niigata Albirex (16-15) played at the court of 5th ranked Kyoto Hannaryz (16-17). Niigata Albirex defeated Kyoto Hannaryz 80-66 on Saturday. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Niigata Albirex's pressure prevailed and they won that period 23-13 extending their advantage to 14 points. American power forward Zachary Andrews (203-85, college: Bradley) notched a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and guard Shuhei Komatsu (185-85) supported him with 24 points. Four Niigata Albirex players scored in double figures. Niigata Albirex's coach Masaya Hirose used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 22 points and 14 rebounds by American guard Wendell White (198-84, college: UNLV) did not help to save the game for Kyoto Hannaryz. His fellow American import power forward Michael Fey (213-83, college: UCLA) added 9 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Niigata Albirex moved-up to third place. Loser Kyoto Hannaryz keeps the fifth position with 17 games lost. Niigata Albirex will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kyoto Hannaryz will play again against Niigata Albirex (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
