Very important is a road loss of second ranked Nova Ves (22-9) against fourth ranked Komarno (17-14) on Saturday night. Visiting Nova Ves were defeated by Komarno in Komarno 82-70. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Nova Ves. The game without a history. Komarno led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 20-of-23 charity shots (87.0 percent) during the game. Bahamas forward Jaraun Burrows (203-85, college: IPFW, agency: Warren Sports International) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and Latvian forward Martins Berkis (199-85, agency: Warren Sports International) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds. Komarno's coach Krunoslav Krajnovic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side international forward Stanislav Baldovsky (192-89) responded with 19 points and American guard Corey Jefferson (183-85, college: Texas St.-San Marcos) scored 11 points and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Komarno moved-up to third place. Nova Ves at the other side keep the second position with nine games lost. Komarno will play against Prievidza (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Nova Ves will play against SKP Banska Bystrica (#9) and hope to get back on the winning track.
