JBL top team - Aishin Sea Horses (23-8) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed eighth ranked Hokkaido (8-23) in Kariya 84-62. The game without a history. Aishin Sea Horses led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Hokkaido's 40. It was a quality performance for the former international power forward Kosuke Takeuchi (205-85) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds. The former international center J.R. Sakuragi (206-76, college: UCLA) accounted for 18 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winning side. Four Aishin Sea Horses players scored in double figures. Swedish forward Christian Maraker (206-82, college: Pacific) came up with 9 points and 11 rebounds and the former international center Daiji Yamada (200-81) added 6 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Hokkaido in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Aishin Sea Horses maintains first place with 23-8 record. Hokkaido lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 23 games lost. Aishin Sea Horses will again meet at home bottom-ranked Hokkaido (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hokkaido will have a break next round.
