Very predictable result when second ranked Denain Voltaire (18-5) won against at home 10th ranked Denek (11-12) 98-87 on Saturday. Denain Voltaire shot 61.9 percent from the field. They also forced 24 Denek turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American-Liberian power forward Boakai Lalugba (200-81, college: Bucknell, agency: Court Side) who led the winners and scored 26 points and 6 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). Center Renaud Brocheray (203-80) accounted for 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. American guard Larry Blair (183-84, college: Liberty, agency: JEMsports) came up with 25 points and 4 steals and center Benjamin Rey (210-79) added 13 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Denek in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Denain Voltaire. They maintain second place with 18-5 record having just two points less than leader Bordeaux. Denek lost their third game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Souffel and Orchy. Denain Voltaire will meet Blois (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
