Regular Season Round 15: Olimpiada - Apollon Patras 63-71

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked Apollon Patras and 9th ranked Olimpiada had identical 6-8 record. But Olimpiada was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Patra 71-63 on Saturday night. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 71-63. Strangely Olimpiada outrebounded Apollon Patras 41-28 including 31 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for guard Nikos Argyropoylos (188-78) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 6 assists. Serbian power forward Zoran Milovic (204-77) helped adding 17 points. The best for the losing side was center Apost Koutroulias (206-76) with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds and guard Sakis Veskoukis (195-80) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Apollon Patras (7-8) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with AEK/Argous and Ermis Lagkada. Olimpiada lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the tenth position with nine games lost. Apollon Patras will face higher ranked Lavrio (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Olimpiada will play against the league's leader KAOD (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
