Very important is a road loss of second ranked AGOR (11-5) against tenth ranked AEK/Argous (7-8) on Saturday night. Visiting AGOR was defeated by AEK/Argous in Argous 78-68. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of AGOR. The game was mostly controlled by AEK/Argous. AGOR was better in third quarter 15-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded AGOR 39-25 including a 26-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for power forward Andronikos Gizogiannis (200-83, agency: FCM) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Center Tasos Kasabalis (207-84) accounted for 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Guard Giorgos Koumoulos (185-78) came up with 13 points and 6 assists and Serbian center Damir Latovic (204-80) added 12 points respectively for AGOR in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. AEK/Argous moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Apollon Patras and Ermis Lagkada. AGOR at the other side dropped to the third position with five games lost. AEK/Argous will play against higher ranked Arkadikos (#6) in Arkadia in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. AGOR will play on the road against Panelefsiniakos in Eleusina and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
