Regular Season Round 19: BC Nokia - Namika II 86-47

Bottom-ranked Lahden NMKY is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their 19th consecutive match to sixth ranked BC Nokia (11-8) 86-47 on Sunday evening. The game without a history. BC Nokia led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Lahden NMKY's 14. BC Nokia forced 23 Lahden NMKY turnovers and outrebounded them 39-20 including a 24-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for guard Timo Riihela (193-80) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 8 rebounds and 11 assists. Gambian forward Baboucarr Bojang (204-80, college: Illinois St.) accounted for 21 points and 16 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Four BC Nokia players scored in double figures. Guard Valtteri Makalainen (192-92) came up with 13 points and 6 rebounds and guard Alexi Alanen (194-91) added 9 points respectively for Lahden NMKY in the defeat. Lahden NMKY's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. BC Nokia moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Huima. Lahden NMKY lost their nineteenth game in a row. They still closes the standingsBC Nokia will meet Kerava Energia Team (#11) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Lahden NMKY will play against Ura Basket in Kaarina and hopes to get finally their first victory.
