Fifteenth-ranked Foshan (8-16) was very close to win a game against tenth ranked Liaoning Hunters (12-13) in Yingkou on Sunday. Liaoning Hunters managed to secure only one-point victory 67-66. However their fans expected much easier game. Foshan cut a 13-point halftime deficit to one at the end of the game. The former international center Xiaoxu Li (207-90) saved the victory by scoring 9 points, 19 rebounds and 4 assists. International guard Ailun Guo (193-93) contributed with 21 points for the winners. American guard Stephon Marbury (187-77, college: Georgia Tech) replied with 23 points and Nigerian-British power forward Olumide Oyedeji (208-81) added 14 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Foshan. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Liaoning Hunters maintains tenth position with 12-13 record. Foshan lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth place with 16 games lost. Liaoning Hunters will face league's second-placed DongGuan Leopards at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Foshan will play against Jilin Tigers (#14) in Changchun and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
