There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Shandong Bulls (12-12) beat 7th ranked Bayi Fubang (13-12) in Jinan 109-103 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 69-59 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Shandong Bulls made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. Bayi Fubang was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Myron Allen (180-79, college: Lee JC) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international guard Jie Sun (190-86) contributed with 22 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. The former international center ZhiZhi Wang (214-79) replied with 27 points and 9 rebounds and the former international center Ke Mo (210-82) added 26 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Bayi Fubang. Five Shandong Bulls and four Bayi Fubang players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Shandong Bulls moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Zhejiang C. Loser Bayi Fubang keeps the seventh position with 12 games lost. Shandong Bulls will face Shanghai Sharks (#12) at home in the next round.
