A very interesting game took place in Lugo. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of higher ranked Girona FC (12-12) to twelfth ranked Leche Rio Breogan (10-14) 69-67 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Girona FC. The hosts were ahead by 1 point but lost the second period ending it with a 1-point deficit before their 24-21 run, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was Portuguese-Cape Verdean forward Joao Gomes (199-85) who scored 17 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). American forward Wilbert Brown (200-84, college: Niagara, agency: ZAG Advocates) chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds. Four Leche Rio Breogan players scored in double figures. Leche Rio Breogan's coach Pepe Rodriguez allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was Croatian power forward Mateo Kedzo (207-84) who recorded 22 points and 7 rebounds and Ignacio Ordin (183-78) added 11 points and 4 assists respectively. Leche Rio Breogan maintains twelfth position with 10-14 record. Girona FC at the other side dropped to the seventh place with 12 games lost. Leche Rio Breogan's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Obradoiro CAB in Santoago de Comp and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
