Regular Season Round 15: Puntamika - Zabok 74-61

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Borik Puntamika (9-6) beat 6th ranked Zabok (7-8) in Zadar 74-61 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 74-61. Borik Puntamika forced 23 Zabok turnovers. Strangely Zabok outrebounded Borik Puntamika 31-18 including a 31-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for guard Ivan Mikulic (194-91) who led the winners and scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. Power forward Jure Skific (202-88) accounted for 20 points for the winning side. Four Borik Puntamika players scored in double figures. Center Jure Lozancic (211-83, college: Jacksonville) came up with 8 points and 12 rebounds and forward Ivan Perincic (208-77, agency: Agency No 10) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Zabok in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Borik Puntamika moved-up to second place, which they share with Alkar Sinj. Loser Zabok keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. They share it with Darda. Borik Puntamika will meet Svjetlost (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Zabok will play against Vrijednosnice OS in Darda and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
