Regular Season Round 21: Cajasol - Unicaja 82-77

Everything could happen in Sevilla at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked Cajasol and 9th ranked Unicaja Malaga had identical 10-10 record. This time Cajasol used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Malaga 82-77. It looked good early as Unicaja Malaga took an 11-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Cajasol took control winning two of next three quarters and eventually winning the game that evening by 5 points. They made 26-of-33 charity shots (78.8 percent) during the game. 28 personal fouls committed by Unicaja Malaga helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American guard Louis Bullock (185-76, college: Michigan) who led his team to a victory with 21 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Bulgarian forward Kaloyan Ivanov (205-86) contributed with 10 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Cajasol players scored in double figures. British forward Joel Freeland (208-87) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and American guard Terrell McIntyre (175-77, college: Clemson) added 10 points in the effort for Unicaja Malaga. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Cajasol. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with DKV Joventut. Unicaja Malaga at the other side dropped to the tenth position with 11 games lost. Cajasol's next round opponent will be Gran Canaria 2014 (#10) in Las Palmas. Unicaja Malaga will play at home against Menorca Basquet in Mahon.
