Regular Season Round 18: Cesis - TTT Riga 50-93

Undefeated leader TTT Riga delivered the twentieth second consecutive victory. This time they crushed 7th ranked Cesis (3-18) 93-50. The game without a history. TTT Riga led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They held Cesis to an opponent 22.5 percent shooting from the field compared to 46.2 percent accuracy of the winners and had 31 for 44 from the free-throw line, while Cesis only scored fifteen points from the stripe. TTT Riga forced 24 Cesis turnovers and outrebounded them 47-34 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. 28 personal fouls committed by Cesis helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. International forward Dita Krumberga (183-84, college: Mt.St.Marys) notched 23 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international guard Anda Eibele (170-84) supported her with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists. Four TTT Riga players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 21 points and 14 rebounds by power forward Lina Lisnere (192-86, college: Syracuse) did not help to save the game for Cesis. Forward Inga Geistarde-Zaporozeca (178-78) added 4 points and 8 rebounds. TTT Riga (22-0) have an impressive 22-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with a perfect record of 22 victories in a row. Cesis at the other side keep the seventh place with 18 games lost. TTT Riga's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Riga Latvijas Universitate.
