Regular Season Round 27: Liaoning H. - DongGuan L. 101-107

Very predictable result in Yingkou where second ranked DongGuan Leopards (21-4) defeated 10th ranked Liaoning Hunters (12-14) 107-101 on Wednesday. Liaoning Hunters trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 29-24 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 101-107 at the end of the game. The best player for the winners was Nigerian guard Josh-Emmanuel Akognon (180-86, college: Cal.St. Fullerton) who scored 36 points (!!!). American-Lebanese power forward Jackson Vroman (208-81, college: Iowa St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Mike Harris (198-83, college: Rice) who recorded 27 points and 9 rebounds and the former international center Xiaoxu Li (207-90) added 11 points and 18 rebounds respectively. Four Liaoning Hunters players scored in double figures. Liaoning Hunters' coach tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for DongGuan Leopards. They maintain second place with 21-4 record having just three points less than leader Xinjiang. Loser Liaoning Hunters keep the tenth position with 14 games lost. DongGuan Leopards will meet Jilin Tigers (#13) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Liaoning Hunters will play against Zhejiang Cyclones in Hangzhou and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
