Second Stage Round 19: Argentino - Quimsa 91-81 OT

Date: February 23, 2011
Argentino (7-12) outlasted Quimsa (10-9) in overtime by ten points 91-81. It looked good early as Quimsa took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Argentino had a 22-15 second period charge getting the lead. Then Quimsa managed to tie the game at the end of regular time, but lost overtime period 4-14. 25 personal fouls committed by Quimsa helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Joseph Bunn (198-75, college: Phillips (OK)) who helped to win the game recording 30 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Pablo Espinoza (195-87) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Panamanian forward Dionisio Gomez Camargo (203-80, college: Arkansas) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and the former international forward Diego Lo Grippo (198-78) added 19 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Quimsa. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Despite that victory Argentino went down to thirteenth position due to points difference. Quimsa at the other side keeps the eighth place with nine games lost. Argentino's next round opponent will be Boca Juniors (#14) in Buenos Aires.
