Regular Season Round 35: Tokyo Apache - Osaka Evessa 84-77

Very important is a road loss of first ranked Osaka Evessa (21-13) against fourth ranked Tokyo Apache (17-11) on Wednesday night. Visiting Osaka Evessa was defeated by Tokyo Apache in a tough game in Tokyo 77-84. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Osaka Evessa. Osaka Evessa was trailing by 7 points at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 29-18 charge of Tokyo Apache, which allowed them to win the game. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was guard Byron Eaton (180-86, college: Oklahoma St.) who scored 32 points (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). Power forward Robert Swift (213-85, college: High School) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Lynn Washington (200-78, college: Indiana) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and forward Lawrence Blackledge (203-86, college: Marquette) added 20 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Tokyo Apache. They moved-up to third place. Loser Osaka Evessa still keeps top position with 13 games lost. They share it with Okinawa GK. Tokyo Apache will meet league's second-placed Okinawa GK on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Osaka Evessa will play against Akita Happinets and hope to secure a win.
