Regular Season Round 27: Qingdao E. - Bayi R. 99-118

Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked Qingdao Double Star (9-16) was rolled over at home by seventh ranked Bayi Fubang (14-12) 118-99 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Bayi Fubang. Qingdao Double Star managed to win second period 28-27. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Qingdao Double Star 39-24 including a 28-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international center ZhiZhi Wang (214-79) who scored 32 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. International forward Lei Wang (203-86) chipped in 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Bayi Fubang players scored in double figures. Bayi Fubang's coach Chang Bin Adijan used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Charles Gaines (201-81, college: S.Mississippi, agency: Gross Zeev ISA) who recorded 45 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Gen Li (196-88) added 17 points respectively. Bayi Fubang moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Zhejiang G.L. Qingdao Double Star lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the fourteenth position with 16 games lost. Bayi Fubang will meet at home Fujian SBS XunXin (#16) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Qingdao Double Star will play against Shanghai Sharks and hope to secure a win.
