Leader Hamar delivered the seventeenth victory on Wednesday night. This time they crushed 6th ranked Haukar (6-12) 90-59 in Hafnarfjordur. The game without a history. Hamar led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The former international forward Kristrun Sigurjonsdottir (178-85) scored 35 points (!!!) and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Jaleesa Butler (183-87, college: Georgetown) chipped in 18 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was the former international center Ragna Brynjarsdottir (188-90) with 11 points and 9 rebounds and American guard Kathleen Snodgrass (175-82) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hamar maintains first position with 17-1 record. Haukar lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 12 games lost. Hamar will meet at home KR (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Haukar will play against the league's second-placed Keflavik and hope to secure a win.
