Second Stage Round 4: KR - Keflavik 61-63

Third-ranked KR (10-8) made lots of trouble for second ranked Keflavik (15-3) in Reykjavik on Wednesday. The visitors from Keflavik managed to secure only two-point victory 63-61. However their fans expected easier game. The guests trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 21-18 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Jacquline Adamshick (183-84, college: Villanova) who had a double-double by scoring 31 points and 21 rebounds. Forward Eva Guamundsdottir (172-94) chipped in 6 points and 13 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international forward Margret Sturludottir (178-89) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and American guard Chazny Morris (178, college: UMKC) added 17 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Keflavik have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 15-3 record having just two points less than leader Hamar. Defending champion KR keeps the third place with eight games lost. Keflavik are looking forward to face Haukar (#6) in Hafnarfjordur in the next round. KR will play on the road against the league's leader Hamar and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
