Regular Season Round 37: Namika Lahti - KTP 87-101

There was no surprise when 9th ranked Namika Lahti (13-23) was defeated at home by second ranked KTP-Basket (26-10) 101-87. The game was mostly controlled by KTP-Basket. Namika Lahti was better in second period 25-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. KTP-Basket forced 19 Namika Lahti turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Jeb Ivey (190-80, college: Portland St.) who helped to win the game recording 25 points, 7 assists and 4 steals. Canadian forward Sefton Barrett (196-83, college: Cent.Michigan, agency: Limelight Hoops) contributed with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. KTP-Basket's coach Ray Ailus allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Roope Suonio (176-82) answered with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and American guard Ryan Ayers (201-86, college: Notre Dame) added 19 points in the effort for Namika Lahti. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. KTP-Basket maintains second place with 26-10 record having seven points less than leader Pyrinto. Namika Lahti lost their seventh game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 23 games lost. KTP-Basket will play against Torpan Pojat (#8) in Helsinki in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Namika Lahti will play on the road against Espoo Honka and hopes to get back on the winning track.
