Regular Season Round 37: Korihait - LrNMKY 89-68

Date: February 25, 2011
Very expected game in Uusikaupunki where 11th ranked LrNMKY (8-29) was rolled over by fourth ranked UU-Korihait (24-13) 89-68. It looked good early as LrNMKY took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then UU-Korihait had a 32-18 second period charge getting the lead and LrNMKY was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 68-89. UU-Korihait had a 27-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Lawrence Wright (195-84, college: Bradley) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 6 rebounds. His fellow American import swingman Nigel Moore (195-81, college: Alabama A&M) contributed with 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four UU-Korihait players scored in double figures. UU-Korihait's coach Tom Westerholm felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard James Lewis (191-86, college: Fresno Pacific) answered with 23 points and swingman Tuukka Kulha (193-85) added 8 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for LrNMKY. The victory was the third consecutive win for UU-Korihait. They maintain fourth place with 24-13 record. LrNMKY lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with 29 games lost. UU-Korihait will play against Kouvot (#6) in Kouvola in the next round. LrNMKY will play at home against Porvoon Tarmo (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
