The most surprising game was another loss of top-ranked Obras (13-6) in Rio Tercero on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by tenth ranked Club 9 (9-10) 82-75. Obras trailed by 16 points at halftime and as many as 20 after three quarters before a 25-12 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 75-82 at the end of the game. It was a great evening for Jamaican-Canadian forward Jermaine Bucknor (199-83, college: Richmond) who led his team to a victory scoring 30 points and 9 rebounds. American power forward Jerome Meyinsse (206-88, college: Virginia) helped adding 25 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side American forward Joshua Pittman (197-76, college: NC-Asheville, agency: Dream Team Management) responded with 15 points and 7 rebounds and international guard Carlos Schattmann (194-87) scored 17 points. Five Obras players scored in double figures. Club 9 moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Monte Hermoso. Obras at the other side still keeps top position with six games lost. They share it with Lanus. Club 9 is looking forward to face higher ranked Gimnasia CR (#4) in Comodoro R. in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Obras will play on the road against Olimpico de La Banda and is hoping to win this game.
