Ninth-ranked Tindastoll (7-12) used its home court advantage to challenge second ranked KR (15-4) in Sauoarkrokur on Friday. The visitors from Reykjavik managed to secure only three-point victory 85-82. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 22-14 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. KR forced 19 Tindastoll turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Marcus Walker (186-86, college: Colorado St., agency: 011 Sports) who helped to win the game recording 38 points (!!!) and 4 steals. The former international guard Brynjar Bjoernsson (191-88, college: Francis Marion) contributed with 14 points and 5 assists for the winners. KR's coach Hrafn Kristjansson used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Hayward Fain (196, college: St.Augustine, agency: Strategic Sports) answered with 33 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and American-Dutch guard Sean Cunningham (188-86, college: Cal-Riverside, agency: R.H.Consultancy) added 18 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) in the effort for Tindastoll. KR have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain second place with 15-4 record behind leader Snaefell. Tindastoll lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 12 games lost. KR are looking forward to face Grindavik (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Tindastoll will play against Fjolnir (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
