Regular Season Round 20: Crocodiles - Kings 96-68
Date: February 26, 2011
The game with biggest result difference took place in Wulguru. Local Townsville Crocodiles (14-8) outscored 9th ranked Kings (6-17) 96-68. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kings. The game without a history. Townsville Crocodiles led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot the lights out from three nailing 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. The winners were led by the former international guard Peter Crawford (193-79) who scored that evening 31 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and American guard Will Blalock (183-83, college: Iowa St., agency: Priority Sports) supported him with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Townsville Crocodiles players scored in double figures. Even 19 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) by the former international forward Ben Knight (203-76, agency: Interperformances) did not help to save the game for Kings. American forward Trey Gilder (206-85, college: Northwestern St.) added 12 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Townsville Crocodiles have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Kings at the other side stay at the bottom position with 17 games lost. Townsville Crocodiles' next round opponent will be Wollongong Hawks (#5) in Gwynneville. Kings will play at home against Melbourne Tigers (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
