1Liga top team - AZS Politechnika Warszawska (21-4) had no problems winning another game. This time they beat fourteenth ranked Astoria (6-19) in Warszawa 85-69. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when AZS Politechnika Warszawska's pressure prevailed and they won that period 22-13 extending their advantage to 16 points. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Astoria's players. Forward Michal Nowakowski (202-88) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and forward Leszek Karwowski (209-75) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. Five AZS Politechnika Warszawska players scored in double figures. At the losing side power forward Sebastian Laydych (203-87) responded with 15 points and 7 rebounds and guard Artur Gliszczynski (178-81) scored 12 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. AZS Politechnika Warszawska have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 21-4 record. Newly promoted Astoria keeps the fourteenth position with 19 games lost. They share it with GKS Tychy. AZS Politechnika Warszawska will play against MMKS Dabrowa Gornicza (#5) at home in the next round. Astoria will play against AZS Szczecin (#10) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
