Regular Season Round 24: Challans - Sorgues 86-74

An interesting game took place in Challans where higher ranked Sorgues (13-11) was upset on the court of ninth ranked Vendee Challans (12-11) 86-74 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Vendee Challans. Sorgues was better in third quarter 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Vendee Challans shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Robert Yanders (180-79, college: Missouri St., agency: JEMsports) who helped to win the game recording 25 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Fabien Herard (198-79) who added 18 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Four Vendee Challans players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Serbian forward Slobodan Ocokoljic (204-80, college: Weber St.) with 21 points and 5 rebounds and naturalized Moroccan guard Yassine Bassine (198-84) scored 15 points. Vendee Challans maintains ninth position with 12-11 record. Newly promoted Sorgues dropped to the sixth place with 11 games lost. Vendee Challans will face Lievin Basket (#15) on the road in the next round where they are favorite.
