The game between closely ranked teams ended with 7th ranked Houthalen's (6-12) road loss to sixth ranked R.Spirou Monceau (8-10) 75-85 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by R.Spirou Monceau. Houthalen managed to win fourth quarter 24-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Houthalen 39-20 including a 28-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Hungarian center Katalin Kurtozi (193-81, college: St.John's, agency: LBM Management) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. International forward Virginie Michiels (182-87) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds. Five R.Spirou Monceau players scored in double figures. The former international forward Annelies Blommaers (176-83) produced 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds and international swingman Nina Crelot (170-87) added 13 points respectively for the guests. R.Spirou Monceau maintains sixth position with 8-10 record. Houthalen lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Jeugd Gentson. R.Spirou Monceau will meet Point Chaud (#9) in the next round. Houthalen will play against Dexia Namur and hope to secure a win.
